There are about 400 species of oak, though only about 20 are used in making oak barrels. Of the trees that are used, only 5% is suitable for making high grade wine barrels. The average age of a French oak tree harvested for use in wine barrels is 170 years!

The bill for a celebration party for the 55 drafters of the US Constitution was for 54 bottles of Madeira, 60 bottles of claret, 8 bottles of whiskey, 22 bottles of port, 8 bottles of hard cider, 12 beers and seven bowls of alcohol punch large enough that "ducks could swim in them.

GRAPE SOURCING
Grapes for were drawn across some of the best growing areas for white grapes, including California’s Central Coast, the Sierra Foothills, and Lodi in the Sacramento River Delta. Grapes from these areas experience warm days and cool nights, and ripen to full maturity with balanced flavors and crispness.

VINTAGE
The advantage of a Non-Vintage wine is that it allows the winemaker the most freedom to select the best flavor components across vintages. Our white combines several different vintages of wine in order to create a blend that marries crisp, young intense fruit flavors with more subtle, complex flavors.

WINEMAKING
The wine reflects an artist’s pallet of various varietals that each contributes a unique flavor component to the finished blend. The base of the blend is Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc: Chardonnay provides crisp apple and pear flavors; Sauvignon Blanc provides zesty citrus flavors and an aromatic, floral component; Pinot Gris provides richness and body. A dash of other varietals were added for
additional complexity and nuance.

•WINEMAKER’S NOTES
Light-to-medium bodied, with with floral, citrusy accents on the nose, ripe citrys, peach and pear flavors on the plate, with a fruity yet crisp finish. This wine is easy to drink and lends itself to light appetizers before dinner, pairing well with a wide range of dishes.
