PINOT NOIR

One of the oldest cultivated grapes, Pinot Noir is thought to have taken root 2,000 years ago in the Burgundy region of France, establishing the noble pinot as the ancestor of no fewer than 16 modern grapes.

Long considered to be the most fickle of grapes to grow. If the climate is too hot its thin skins burst, if the climate is too cold the grapes don’t ripen.

After the Movie Side Ways was released Pinot Noir sales doubled in the following 12 month period creating a world wide shortage of Pinot Noir.
